First Time Guide

Getting a massage for the first time can be an intimidating experience, but it doesn’t have to be. By reading this guide and browsing through some of the mostĀ frequently asked questionsĀ for beginners, we hope that you will gain an understanding of what to expect at your first massage.

Step 1

Preparing For Your Session

Schedule an appointment for a massage either online, by phone, or in person. When you first come in to our office you will be asked to fill out a short personal and medical questionnaire. This is done so that we are made aware of any medical problems that might affect your massage session. If you have any major medical issues, be sure to alert the staff as well as your therapist before your massage begins.

Step 1

Step 2

Before Your Massage

Soon after your paperwork is finished you will be called by a therapist to begin your massage. He or she (your preference) will lead you back to a private room and briefly discuss what kind of massage you want, the strength of the massage, any areas that you don’t want massaged, etc. Feel free to explain to the therapist exactly what you want out of your massage so they can customize it based on your needs.

Step 2

Step 3

Privacy During Your Session

After discussing your massage, the therapist will leave the room for a few minutes to allow you to undress and lay on the massage table. You only need to undress to your comfort level. Some people leave undergarments on, some just underwear, and some undress completely. No matter how much or little you are wearing, the massage table includes sheets that cover your private areas at all times.

Step 3

Step 4

During & After Your Session

During the massage your therapist will guide you through the session and massage each area as you discussed. Be sure to express at any time if the pressure level is too light or too deep. After the massage has ended you will be given another few minutes to get dressed. Your therapist will be waiting outside your room with water to assist your body in flushing the toxins released during the massage.

Step 4

Step 5

Checking Out

You can now head to the front desk to checkout. One of our staff members will ask you how your massage was and you will be given the option of rating your therapist. You will also be asked how you would like to pay for the massage and if you would like to add gratuity. Gratuity is not required but it is greatly appreciated by our therapists. The standard gratuity of 20% is $20 on any of our regular 1 hour massages.

Step 5

Step 6

Finishing Your Session

That’s it! You have just completed your first massage session. The front desk will offer you the opportunity to schedule your next massage if you so choose. We hope you had a great experience and look forward to seeing you again soon. If you have any questions about this first time process please do not hesitate toĀ contact us. Our friendly staff is always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Step 6
